SOLD: Julian Meagher -The Small Hour #1

$28,000.00

Sometimes I feel I can see the space beyond the horizon line, an in-between timeless space that connects everything and everyone, that helps me understand a more poetic truth when it comes to thinking about our place in everything. The Crepuscular rays, or 'God's Rays,' of light seen at sunrise and sunset are caused by the way light and particles (including salt in seaspray) and gases interact. They are actually straight and parallel. We only see them as convergent and divergent in the same way a parallel hallway appears to converge on the horizon point. Though we think of lights in the sky as optical illusions, they instead have true revelatory power. For moments in time, they show us things that are “really there”: different coloured light from the sun and moon, particles in the air, scattering, and the true nature of the sky. What appears ephemeral is instead something ever-present becoming visible.
